I joined Powerscourt in 2011 and was attracted strongly to the company by its leading position in reputation management - working with companies like BP, HSBC and Prudential - its deep media heritage and insight, its creativity and the dynamism of its culture. I can vouch from market experience that Powerscourt really does have a differentiated offer, centred around reputation enhancement and protection.
Having switched from corporate finance into financial public relations in 1993, I spent nearly 16 years at Financial Dynamics from mid-1994. Here I set up and led the TMT team until 2006. I then worked across sectors, advising clients on their financial communications, and led business development across FD's Financial Communications practice in London. My clients ranged from very large to small-cap and included Anglo American, Ford - on its sales of Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo - KPN Royal Dutch Telecom, Micro Focus, Phoenix IT and PV Crystalox. I was a member of the FD London Board and in 2009 launched and co-led FD's European Restructuring & Recapitalisation communications practice. Over the years, I was regularly top 10 ranked in M&A communications by number of transactions and advised on the communications programmes of nearly 40 IPOs.
Following the final conclusion of the sale to FTI Consulting Inc., I left FD in early 2010. After a year out in a management consulting firm I selected Powerscourt for my return to financial communications, following an extensive review of the industry. Powerscourt has a very strong team and a great roster of quoted and unquoted clients, which I am tasked with growing.
