Greg Lawless - Consultant

I joined Powerscourt in Spring 2011 to develop a fully fledged retail and consumer industries practice. My previous career involved eight years with Safeway in a variety of commercial and strategic roles, most latterly in corporate development and investor relations. This included being part of the team that sold the company to Morrisons in 2004. I then spent six years working as a retail analyst for HSBC, Blue Oar and Collins Stewart covering both European and UK retailers, before leaving the City and working as a freelance journalist at both The Times and FT.
I chose Powerscourt because I was looking for a role to leverage my career experience to date. Powerscourt already has a raft of consumer industries clients, but is currently under represented in the retail sector. Powerscourt has a powerful blend of talent across the board with both journalists and seasoned PR people enabling us to look at situations creatively. The culture of putting the client outcome first is at the heart of the Powerscourt advice. Powerscourt is fundamentally different to other PR firms and I have joined at an interesting time in its evolution: I am not regretting my career change.
