John Elliott - Consultant

I joined Powerscourt in 2011 after 15 years working in high-profile jobs in international media organisations. From 2000 to 2007 I worked as a senior journalist in the newsroom of the Sunday Times, specialising in social affairs and consumer affairs. Following that I spent time as an editor at HarperCollins, commissioning and publishing major non-fiction projects - among my authors were well-known public figures, including David Cameron. Before beginning my career - which also includes time with the Daily Telegraph, the Daily Mail and Condé Nast - I graduated with an MA in English literature from Trinity College Cambridge.
I'm very pleased to be able to bring my in-depth knowledge of the sharp end of the media to Powerscourt, along with the commercial sense and project management skills I learned in publishing. Powerscourt is a dynamic, can-do working environment, but one where the fast pace never prevents creativity and new ideas flourishing - the combination of strategic insight, attention to detail, flexibility and speed is one which our clients really appreciate. I work across sectors and enjoy tackling the fresh challenges Powerscourt provides, whether it's in TMT, special situations or social media.
