Rory Godson - Founder
Before I started Powerscourt in 2004, I worked for two of the most dynamic businesses: Goldman Sachs and News Corporation. At The Sunday Times, I worked in different roles, culminating as Business Editor. At Goldman Sachs, I was Director of Corporate Affairs for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. These two very different organisations march to a common beat. Each is organic, endlessly adaptive and always relentlessly chasing success through an exemplary focus on the customers' needs.
That is the culture I endeavoured to build at Powerscourt. Adapt and serve. The aim: understand our clients’ businesses, establish how communications can help, deliver superlative strategic advice and great access to media and markets when needed.
Eighteen years in journalism - sports, politics, business, conflict and crime - gives me justified confidence that I can assess the best way to deal with news and media challenges.
We always remember that people trust us with the most important thing: their reputation. We have to honour that trust.
There are three things I love most about Powerscourt. Firstly, through great recruitment, building a team. Second, by selecting the best services and the best way to deliver them, building a business. And, most importantly, the satisfaction and pride that comes from offering a great service to clients and helping people to make themselves understood and to deliver their business strategy.
