Powerscourt hires Gilly Lock and Ngozi Emeagi

Two senior hires will support Powerscourt’s growth ambitions

Gilly Lock joins on 19 October as a Director in the Financials & Real Estate team with responsibility for further developing our business advising asset managers. Gilly has spent 10 years in FTI’s financial services team and advised the likes of Barings, BlackRock, BMO Global Asset Management, BNY Mellon Investment Management, Brewin Dolphin, The Share Centre and ICBC Standard Bank. She also spent a year in the corporate communications team at M&G as part of her public relations degree. Gilly holds a voluntary role as Chairman of the Investment Sector for the PRCA. Gilly will help us continue to develop a leading asset and wealth management offering, building on our work for Jupiter, Brown Shipley and Brewin Dolphin.

Ngozi Emeagi arrives on 9 November as a Senior Consultant with twin responsibilities: primarily working with Andy Smith on our banking clients and also helping companies to develop and communicate diversity and inclusion policies. Ngozi joins us from insurer MS Amlin where she is the Global Media and PR lead responsible for all external comms and internal comms projects. Prior to this, she spent four years with Direct Line Group. Before moving to Direct Line, Ngozi was at Fleishman Hillard and Tulchan, covering a variety of sectors including banks and property. Ngozi started her career with a four year stint on the government bonds team at Goldman Sachs. She has helped to drive diversity and inclusion at Goldman Sachs, Direct Line and Amlin and sits on the Committee for Women in PR, a group aimed at increasing the number and diversity of women in leadership roles in PR and Communications.

Justin Griffiths, Partner and Head of the Financial Services & Real Estate practice, commented: “Following a couple of very successful years, we are pleased to expand our team with these two great hires. Gilly’s and Ngozi’s experience and skillset will be key to ensuring we continue to provide our clients with the very best counsel.”

In addition, Powerscourt has appointed Louisa Henry and James Anderson as Analysts in London, and Ounissa Quaid as an Analyst in Dublin.

Rory Godson, Founder & Chief Executive, commented: “We are making these appointments in the current environment because of confidence in our future which has been underpinned by the resilience of the business over the last six months. Powerscourt continues to go from strength to strength and I am excited that Gilly, Ngozi, Louisa, James and Ounissa will be part of our growth plans. We will emerge from the pandemic in better shape than we went into it.”
