Against this turbulent backdrop, understanding public perceptions of a sector that employs over 147,000 people and was responsible for £36 billion worth of exports in 2023 is more critical than ever.

Powerscourt worked with Opinium to survey 2,000 adults across the UK, weighted to be nationally representative, to gauge their perceptions of the UK defence industry – yielding a range of insights on the public’s attitude to the sector.
