Powerscourt’s Donjeta Miftari to advise Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani

Powerscourt, the strategic communications consultancy, is pleased to announce that Donjeta Miftari, a senior consultant, will take up a short-term post to advise Kosovo’s Acting President, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, on international media strategy. Donjeta starts her new role in Pristina, Kosovo, on Wednesday December 2 2020.

President Osmani-Sadriu took office on November 5 having previously been the Chairwoman (speaker) of the National Assembly. Donjeta will work with the President’s office on engagement with international audiences. She will continue to work for Powerscourt during her stay in Pristina.

Donjeta was born in Kosovo and came to the UK with her family as a refugee shortly before the Kosovo war of 1998-9. She joined Powerscourt in July 2019 from the Institute of Directors where she was Head of Communications.

Donjeta Miftari said:

“It is a great honour to work with the Acting President Vjosa Osmani.

These challenging times will require strong leadership, and I know that President Osmani will continue to advance the country, both domestically and on the international stage.

“My family and I moved to London during an extremely difficult time for our people. The UK not only provided us with refuge during a dark time for the country, but it also gave me and my family opportunities we otherwise would not have had. I am proudly British and proudly Kosovar.

“I am grateful for Powerscourt’s support in giving me the opportunity to contribute to Kosovo’s development.”

Rory Godson, Chief Executive of Powerscourt, said: “We are very proud of Donjeta and support her in her wish to help Kosovo tell its story and to work to accelerate the development of Kosovo.”
