THE POWERSCOURT DIFFERENCE

At Powerscourt, we pride ourselves on being one of the best employers in our industry and we believe that if we are to get the best out of our colleagues, they deserve to get the best out of us.

We recognise that the world of work has evolved in recent years and below sets out what you can expect from your experience at Powerscourt and what you’ll receive in return.

WHAT OUR COLLEAGUES SAY

“My journey with Powerscourt began with 2 weeks’ work experience in 2018, followed by an offer to join the Administration team. After 3 years in the Admin team, I became increasingly involved in HR work, I made an internal move to HR at the beginning of 2022.

Powerscourt have continued to support my development by sponsoring me to complete my CIPD Level 5 People Management qualification. The HR team are also very supportive- I know I can ask them anything and they’ll gladly help.

The opportunity to stay at Powerscourt and pursue my choice of career has been a success for me and for the Company. So, everyone is a winner!”

– KATIE ALSTON, HR ADMINISTRATOR, HR

“I joined the Consumer Industries team in March 2021. At that time working from home was very much the (Government) order of the day. Now we’ve adopted a hybrid working environment, a particular positive for me as a father of two is Powerscourt’s sensible and open-minded approach to flexible working, as are other benefits such a family cover Bupa healthcare and Denplan.

More recently, Powerscourt have launched the Workplace Nursery Scheme. The scheme is very well designed – benefitting all parties (employee, employer and childcare provider). Given the meaningful savings it provides on the cost of childcare every month, I expect to renew my 12-month contract later this year.”

– NICK HAYNS, DIRECTOR, CONSUMER INDUSTRIES

“I joined Powerscourt’s Dublin office in summer 2022. During the recruitment process I met with teams both in Dublin and London, and really valued so many people taking the time to chat about their experiences.

The breadth of Powerscourt’s client base has opened up a whole new world of interesting and challenging projects for me. There’s certainly no shortage of learning opportunities both from the work itself, and the people I work with.

I joined a team that includes stockbrokers, economists, journalists, ESG experts, barristers and more. Having diverse perspectives to draw on is hugely important in our line of work and delivers better outcomes for our clients. The environment in Powerscourt is very much about the whole team rather than individual competition, and everyone is more than willing to share their knowledge.”

– KELLI O’MALLEY, MANAGER, DUBLIN

“I’ve been in agency communications since 2004 and I joined Powerscourt as Head of TMT in 2018. I recently returned from maternity leave after the birth of my second child.

Powerscourt had been supportive in helping me adapt to life as a working parent when I first joined – family is treated as very important here – but was even better the second time round. I was able to benefit from an enhanced, sector-leading maternity pay policy, and we recruited an interim head of team to make sure the client base I’d worked hard to build was well served. This let me focus on my family until I was ready to come back.

I had return-to-work coaching sessions, which gave me time to reflect on what might be challenging and what I could do to tackle that. Our hybrid working model also means I can catch a bit more of my family without it holding back my access to clients and colleagues.”

– ELLY WILLIAMSON, MANAGING DIRECTOR, TMT

“I joined Powerscourt as a graduate analyst in October 2020, after studying Politics and Economics at the University of Nottingham. I initially joined the TMT team and spent 18 months working on financial and corporate accounts.

As part of the graduate programme, I was given the opportunity to work with the Public Affairs team on the Official Secrets Act campaign. It was clear to me that this was the area I was most interested and felt I could make the most tangible impact in. After expressing this, Powerscourt was quick to facilitate a move to Public Affairs. Since the move, I have been able to work on wide-ranging and fascinating accounts and undertake valuable pro bono work.

I’ve since been promoted to Consultant – my manager Mark was instrumental in this. I’m looking forward to seeing how I can continue to progress further in my career, with Powerscourt’s progression path outlined clearly.”

– HAROLD AMOO, ASSOCIATE, PUBLIC AFFAIRS
